Bloomfield Middle and High School is partnering with the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) at the University of Indianapolis to celebrate Early College Week from April 28 - May 2, 2025. Early College Week focuses public attention on the unique impact of Early College High Schools and the doors they open by allowing students to graduate from high school with a high school diploma and the Indiana College Core.
Compared to their peers, Early College graduates are more likely to go on to college and succeed once they get there. For the 2022 cohort, 79% of endorsed Early College High School graduates went on to college, compared to 53% of Indiana high school graduates.
Early College programs provide rigorous instruction, help students complete high school requirements while earning college credit, support students as they take on their challenging schoolwork, and provide opportunities for students to experience a college-going culture. Early College students and their families save thousands of dollars each year on college tuition, making college a reality for more families.
As of February 2025, CELL recognizes 60 Indiana high schools as endorsed Early College High Schools. Bloomfield is one of those endorsed Early College High Schools.
Early College Week celebrates the impact of Early College High Schools and the educators and higher education partners that make Early College programs possible. For more information about Early College Week, visit https://cell.uindy.edu/ec-week-2025.
